Controller

MyCarPortal, Darko Spasenov, Route de Lossy 39, 1782 Belfaux, is responsible for processing your personal data within the meaning of the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Contact: contact@mycarportal.ch

Data processed

Account: name, email address, password (hashed), phone number if you verify it. Business: information on your page, photos, opening hours. Listings: vehicle specifications, photos, location; for a private seller, their first and last name. Insurance: answers to the quote request form, photos or PDF of the vehicle registration and of the driving licence. Exchanges: quote requests, messages and attachments. Payments: amount, date and status; card data stays with Stripe. Usage: anonymised visit statistics and technical logs.

Purposes

Your data is used to provide the service (account, pages, listings, messaging), to process payments, to prevent abuse and fraud, to send you emails related to your activity on the platform and to measure traffic. It is neither sold nor used for targeted advertising. Visible to everyone: a business page and, on a private seller’s listing, their first and last name, the location and, if they choose, their phone number.

Service providers

We use service providers that process data on our behalf: Infomaniak Network SA (hosting of the site, database and files, sending emails, in Switzerland), Stripe (payments) and ASPSMS by VADIAN.NET AG (phone number verification SMS, in Switzerland). Stripe is established outside Switzerland; transfers are based on recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Insurance quote requests and the attached documents are passed on, with your consent, to a partner insurance adviser; they are deleted after two years, or with your account.

Cookies

The site only uses the cookies necessary for it to work: keeping you signed in and security. It uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Visit statistics are produced without cookies, from a fingerprint renewed every day that does not allow you to be identified. The draft of a listing being created may be kept in your browser (local storage) until it is saved. Your language choice is kept in a cookie for one year.

Retention period

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When the account is deleted, your profile, your page, your listings, your photos and your conversations are erased. Payment records are kept for ten years, as accounting law requires. Technical logs are kept for 30 days at most.

Your rights

You can view and correct your data in your account area at any time, and delete your account from “My account”, section “My data”. To receive a copy of your data, or for any other request (objection, restriction, question), write to contact@mycarportal.ch. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Security

Exchanges with the site are encrypted. Access to data is partitioned: each user can only read their own conversations, payments and drafts. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Changes

This policy may change. The current version is always available on this page; you are informed of significant changes by email.
